Mainly because my solid hub 6 puck ACT copper disk clutch ate up my mueller flywheel insert. Which required me to get a new insert and new disk. The clutch had probably less than 6K miles on of easy driving. Anyways at a show I talked to them about clutches for our 300ZX cars. And they began to explain to me the different materials and spring stiffness and how long each material lasts. And they said that could look at making a clutch that is specific for the needs that we have now. We have three different cars with three different needs all twin turbos starting from 450HP and up using lighten flywheels. They have taken the information on the flywheel weight and already know the surface area for engagement and are going to do some research as to what they can make to fit those needs. I know people like MikeH have already come across the problem with clutches holding alot of power and thats they simple do not. I will keep you updated as to the turn out but I am hoping that something good will evolve from this. They don't really make twin disk clutches but I am hoping that maybe they can come up with something. Also they make there own Flywheels as well so maybe they will have kind of combo package that will mate both parts perfectly. Not that there is much to flywheel.. Oh one word advise.. Always get a three piece flywheel my flywheel insert costed me $110 for my mueller one but atleast its it was repairable. If anyone wants to see pictures of my disk and flywheel let me know and I will post them.
